EACEA Project 621343 – Jean Monnet Programme

EACEA Project 621343 – Jean Monnet Programme: Support to AssociationsEACEA Project 621343

Project started on: 03.09.2020 – Ended on 29.02.2024

The project aim was to allow AUSE to continue its 30 years tradition of sustaining the studies on EU integration, building networks among Italian academics, researchers and the civil society, raising interest and promoting the debate on the issues that stand at the core of EU integration process.
The project allowed AUSE to realise its statutory activities, acting as reference network for the community of Academics, Scholars and young researchers devoted to European Integration studies in Italy.
AUSE, an independent association, has always assumed among its key objectives the enforcement of the debate on European issues, building a bridge between the Academic community and the general public (citizen, civil society, administrators).

This project sustained the Association’s life for the three years of the project and allowed to continue achieving the Association goals, derived from the core values of the Jean Monnet action itself:
– making academics, researchers, students and the general  public increasingly aware of European issues, solicitating their sensibility and attention to the ongoing European integration process;
– enforce and promoting the debate between Academics at European and International level;
– involve the greatest number of actors, both Academic and of the general public.
– promoting the enhancement of the key communicaiton and dissemination tools of the association (internet web site, publishing activities) .

Giving continuity to these activties was crucial to sustain the objectives that AUSE has realised since its foundation, that include 1) the strenghtening of the relationship between the Association and other centres of reference for EU studies in Italy and Europe, 2) being a stable centre of reference, offering opportunities and supporting the community of Scholars on EU studies, with a particular focus on younger scholars, 3) the widening of the target audience, moving towards secondary schools and younger generations of EU citizen.

Activities specifically supported by the project include:

1) the Improvement of the Knowledge basis for EU Integration Scholars.
The Association is devoted to the implementation of its ability of collect, produce and make available documents and publications to the largest audience. The association’s website acts, in this framework, not only as communication tool but also as virtual knowledge platform. The project made possible the redesign of the Website and the implementation of its document and resources sections (ie the “Virtual Library of Italian Studies on European Integration” (as virtual documentation centre) and the Census of EU studies in Italy Section)

Please refer to the resources section of this website for further details of realised activties.

2) Sustaining the publishing activities of AUSE including in particular:
– the documents published by AUSE (that are made available for free on this website as electronic resources), mainly the books and reports published by the Association in its “EU Studies Series” and working paper series
– the Archives: a section devoted to collect and make available in electronic format documents and books – starting from the birth of EU studies that still exist in few copies conserved by individuals or libraries –  in free access
– the collection of books on European Studies published with Cacucci Editore

Please refer to the publication section of this website for further details of realised activties.

3) Sustaining the Community of Jean Monnet Professors and Scholars of EU integration in Italy, through the promotion of the debate on key issues, the organisation of events, conferences, summer school including:
a) the Annual Meeting of the Association and of Jean Monnet Professors in Italy
b) the events (conference/workshops) realised every year, in different Italian universities
c) specific events per year dedicated to young scholars and phd candidates
Please refer to the events section of this website for further details of realised activties.

4) The enforcement of the relationship with the general public and civil society, increasing the impact of the Association and its members, enforcing the ability of AUSE of communicating and reaching a wider audience and to update and raise the level of knowledge of the European Union institutional system and functioning.

The project  not only raised the visibility of AUSE: it succeeded in making our stakeholders more aware of EU values and EU Institutions projects and priorities, sustaining and promoting the debate on key issues at European, national and local level.
